We believe that church isn't fundamentally an event, but a people. A 'called out community.' The way we structure our community life reflects this belief. We're not big on a million different events that over-stress and over-commit people. But we are big on applying the gospel to everyday life. This comes from our belief that Jesus is interested in redeeming every aspect of our lives, not just the 'church events.' Because of this, the church is broken down into community groups throughout the South Bronx.
A community group is simply a group of 15-20 people united together in the gospel to join God's mission in a specific place thru everyday life.
As followers of Jesus, He gives us new identity : We are disciples. We are family. We are missionaries.
Community groups create space for the follower of Jesus to live out those identities. We celebrate (Sunday service), share (twice-a-month home gatherings), disciple (one-on-one gospel relationships), rest and enjoy (life together and inviting others), and bless (love and serve neighbor). This is how we as the church join the mission of God with all of our lives.
Currently, we have community groups that meet in Mott Haven and Longwood for their large gatherings
the first and third week of the month.
