Beliefs

I. The Tri-une God

We believe in the One True God, unchanging, fully sovereign, holy, worthy of all glory and affection, who eternally co-exists in a loving unity of three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Each Person of the unified Godhead are of the same essence- equal in divine fullness and perfection, yet execute distinct but harmonious roles in the great work of redemption. (Deut. 6:4, Mark 12:29, 1 Cor. 8:4, Exodus 3:14, Malachi 3:6, Matthew 10:29, Psalm 115:3, Ephesians 1:11, Isaiah 46:9-11, Exodus 15:11, Isaiah 42:8, 1 Corinthians 10:31, Deut. 6:5, Deut. 33:27, Hebrews 9:14, Matthew 3:16-17, John 3:35, John 14:31, 1 John 4:8 John 1:1, John 16:13-15, Genesis 1:1-2, 1:26, Matthew 28:19, John 15:26, John 6:27, 1 Peter 1:3, John 10:30, Titus 2:13, Acts 5:3-4, 2 Corinthians 3:17-18, Ephesians 1:4-14)

II. Creation

We believe that God created the heavens and the earth out of nothing. He created male and female perfectly sinless in his image and in fellowship with Him. He holds all things together that exist. (Genesis 1:1, Hebrews 11:3, Genesis 1:27, Colossians 1:17, Hebrews 1:3)

III. The Scripture

We believe that the Holy Scripture, both the 39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament, are the divinely inspired, living, inerrant Word of God. It is God's chosen means of self revelation which leads to salvation by faith in Jesus Christ and right living, practice, and doctrine. (1 Corinthians 15:4, 2 Peter 3:15-16, 1 Timothy 5:18, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16, John 17:17, 2 Timothy 3:15, 1 Peter 1:23, 2 Timothy 3:16, Psalm 119:11)

IV. God's Eternal Purpose of Election

We believe in God's eternal purpose of election in which he graciously regenerates, sanctifies, sustains, and saves sinners. This does not negate man's responsibility for his sin, nor his personal responsibility to repent and turn to Jesus for the forgiveness of his sins. (Ephesians 1:4-14, 2 Timothy 1:9, Titus 1:1-2, Psalm 51:4, Romans 3:23, Acts 2:23-24, Acts 4:28, Luke 13:3,  Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19, Acts 17:30)

V. The Total Depravity of Man

We believe that because of original sin, mankind is totally depraved, dead in our sins, therefore incapable of seeing the light of the gospel in our flesh, and stand condemned in our natural state of unbelief apart from God's gracious intervention. (Genesis 3:1-24, Ephesians 2:1, Colossians 2:13, 2 Corinthians 4:4, John 3:18-19)

VI. The Person of Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus is the Eternal Son of God the Father, fully God Himself and fully man, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. (John 1:1-2, Titus 2:13, John 1:14, Luke 1:34-35, Luke 2:7)

VII. Salvation by Grace

We believe that Jesus Christ purchased and secured our salvation through His sinless life and sacrificial death on the cross to bear and perfectly satisfy the Father's wrath against our sins. God forgives and saves from sin all who put their faith in Christ and gives believers His perfect righteousness so that we are brought back into perfect fellowship with God and are free from condemnation. We believe that Salvation is a loving gift of grace from God, not a result of our works, and thus prohibits boasting. Salvation is secured and confirmed by Christ's literal, physical resurrection from the dead. (2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:22, 1 Peter 1:19, Hebrews 9:14, Ephesians 1:7, Romans 3:24-25, Colossians 1:13-14, Philippians 3:9, Romans 3:22, 1 Peter 3:18, Romans 8:1, Ephesians 2:4-8, Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2:9, 1 Peter 1:3-5, 1 Corinthians 15:20)

VIII. Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the triune Godhead, convicts the world of sin and righteousness and judgment, and is the life-giving Supernatural Agent in sinful man's regeneration who seals believers for the day of redemption and empowers them for correct living. (Acts 5:3-4, John 16:8-11, John 6:63, 2 Corinthians 3:6, Titus 3:5, 1 Corinthians 6:11, Ephesians 1:13, 4:30, 2 Corinthians 1:22, Romans 8:5-6, 13-14)

IX. Sanctification

We believe that sanctification, the increasing conformity in the life of the believer to the image of Christ, is a lifelong process carried on in the hearts of every believer yet empowered by and sustained by God. (Philippians 2:12-13, 1 Corinthians 15:10, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Hebrews 13:21)

X. Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers

We believe that the redeemed are saved by grace of God and thus are kept by God's power secure in Christ forever, who is faithful to complete the work he began in the believer. (John 6:37-40, 10:27-29, 1 Peter 1:5, Romans 8:38-39, Romans 8:28-30, Philippians 1:6)

XI. The Sacraments

We believe baptism and the Lord's Supper to be the two sacraments given by Scripture to be observed by believers in Christ as testimony for the church. (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:41, 1 Corinthians 11:23-29)

XII. The Return of Christ

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ will triumphantly return in power and glory at the end of the age to resurrect all humanity, condemning all who have rejected Him to eternal punishment, and uniting all believers to reign forever with God in eternal life and glory in His restored kingdom. (Matthew 25:31-46, 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10, Revelation 5:9-10)

Special thanks to several statements of faith from other churches/organizations whom have been invaluable resources in helping us craft and articulate our beliefs.
