Even As I Have Been Fully Known: Psalm 97, 99, 100, 94 & 95 (March 08)

Psalm 97

The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice;
    let the many coastlands be glad!
Clouds and thick darkness are all around him;
    righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
Fire goes before him
    and burns up his adversaries all around.
His lightnings light up the world;
    the earth sees and trembles.
The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
    before the Lord of all the earth.

The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
    and all the peoples see his glory.
All worshipers of images are put to shame,
    who make their boast in worthless idols;
    worship him, all you gods!

Zion hears and is glad,
    and the daughters of Judah rejoice,
    because of your judgments, O Lord.
For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth;
    you are exalted far above all gods.

O you who love the Lord, hate evil!
    He preserves the lives of his saints;
    he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
Light is sown for the righteous,
    and joy for the upright in heart.
Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
    and give thanks to his holy name!

Light and Joy by Adrian Murphy

Light is sown for the righteous.

(But who is righteous? Faith is counted

As righteousness.)

Light is sown for those who believe.

Light falls from His hand.

Light is sown from the hand of the King.

Light is abundantly with Him,

He has enough,

And always more.

Light falls from His hand

To the ground and glows and grows.

From a Light-seed, into a Light-tree.

Trees of light grow behind Him as He walks.

Zion hears and is glad.

Zion is glad,

Her King lights up the world

With His light trees

And joy.

Joy is sown for the upright in heart.

(Hearts made upright by the work of the Son)

Joy falls to the ground

And is a fire before him.

Joy-fire, burning up his adversaries.

Zion hears and is glad.

The Lord of the earth makes

Joy-fire in his path and

Light trees follow in his wake.

So come, let us sing.

Let’s be consumed by His

When the cares of our hearts

Are many,

So many,

Let’s be consoled.

Zion is glad that He lights up the world.

The sea is His,

For He made it.

We also are His,

He made us.

Let the sheep of Zion sing

To the shepherd,

To the refuge

To the maker

Of Zion,

Of light and joy.

Oh come,

Let us sing.
